It was a practice run. I received a local email earlier this week expecting this to happen today at 145pm. I also received an offline confirmation that it WAS a practice run b/c the Bomber "overshot" last year at the Rose Parade.
So we are out having lunch with Billy's parents in Monrovia and see it, then we get to Brenda's and we see it. We go down New York and we see it. Our first thought was practice and second was Dec 7. Hilarious that Billy googles it when we walk into the house in Sacramento and see a blog by YOU for our confirmation! Love it. Good seeing you last night.
A B-2 stealth bomber from the 509th Bomber Wing performed a ceremonial flyover Sunday during services for Verne Orr, a former secretary of the U.S. Air Force who died last week at age 92.
Lt. Col. Todd Copeland said the B-2 Spirit bomber from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri flew over the First United Methodist Church on East Colorado Boulevard.
Orr was Air Force secretary from 1981 to 85 under Reagan. He restarted the B-1 bomber program and oversaw the inception of the B-2 program.
Thank you! We saw it and this was my guess on why it was flying over!!
I couldn't find any news anywhere else on this!!
Thanks again!! I am a obsessively curious person and you saved my day!!

It appears the flyover was part of a memorial service.

An amazing war bird.
Interesting side note. A big group of neighbors gathered to see the fly by.
So you could say a bomber is bringing people together.
